User Q&A (3) : Overloading on cookies while browsing Skin18?
We received customer complaints on how Skin18's website's content "overloaded" cookies on their browsers in the past. If you are facing this problem, please read this post.
Every time Skin18 received customer complaints, our technical team looked rooted to the site, server, and settings by testing browsers and did not find any errors. After similar incidences happened, it seems that there were no issues regarding the server website so far.
It is indeed an issue with an individual customer's browser and not the Skin18's site specifically. Some browsers set up to save cookies, but they can disable that on their end.
A little explanation on the term cookie and cookies are small files stored on a user's computer for faster browsing purposes.
What Are Cookies? What is a Cookie? Cookies are small files that are stored on a user's computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a specific user. The page itself can contain some script that is aware of the data in the cookie and so can carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.
Are Cookies Enabled in my Browser? To check whether your browser configured to allow cookies, visit the Cookie checker. This page will attempt to create a cookie and report on whether or not it succeeded.
